Over the past decade, the King’s Singers have gone through a major transformation with the retirement of all original members. Today, the group is young again (!) and while their technically tight and oh-so-well tuned singing sounds like classic King’s Singers, there are some new arrangements that take the group in very new directions and bring in bits of boombox and barbershop. I suppose this means the new singers are making the group their own. This version of “Down By The Riverside” is a jazzy and fun…but will take me some time to get used to.
